Japanese snares

Kind of. It's still a little looser than I'd like but I can live with it. Will be gigging this kit this afternoon, so we'll see how it holds up.

I have a few japanese snares. One says "Made in Japan" one is a dixie, which almost matches mmy 68 skyblue luddy's, a cb, a percussion plus, the drum with no name. Pearl export. Maybe some are made in china.

Last 2 asain snare drums. The cb has 10 lugs. The made in japan drum, I bought from my seamstress for $20. Yes, I have a seemstress, I own a upholstery shop. The drum with no name came with a drum kit I got off of CL. The drums were supposed to be pacific and just had pacific heads, no badge on any of them. For sale cheap! Look closly at the grommet vent hole, you will see a poppy! hehehehe

I think, when I get around to it, I'm going to try a different head on the snare side. I've got an Aquarian but I'm wondering if I need to go thicker.

If you have another snare with wires on it that don't buzz, yank them off and try them on the problem child. I'm telling you, I've seen crap snares right out of the package.

Also, don't forget, use cord not the plastic straps and take your time lining things up straight.

I guess not a bad suggestion...I mean, at this point, you are trying to cross off all of the things it couldn't be.

So, if you switch on some snares which you know to be good, and it's still doing it, then it isn't the snares... for sure......and onto next theory...
