Jay,
Were those drums posted on the N.H. or Hartford CL? I'm always checking the CT listings, but never saw those.
The 1970's saw drums rewrapped in everything... fur, velvet, shag carpeting, denim, leather, wallpaper, you name it. That shag carpeting on those drums in the pics looks pretty shot, but I have some nice clean carpet scraps in the same color if you're thinking about rewrapping those shells.:D

They were actually listed in the NY Craigslist. Where I live in CT is about 30-40 mins from the NY border. So I often check NYC.

Finally picked these furry drums up last night. Wow were they seriously furry. Here is what was underneath ( photos to come ) the 16" Floor tom is a MIJ with a faded blue sparkle wrap. Has all the original lugs, tone control and leg mounts. Needs a new set of legs and it's ready to rock. The 8" & 10" are no name with a black wrap. They aren't cheapo drums, the wrap is sound, and they look like 5 ply. Good condition,no extra holes etc... Now for the fun...The 14" floor tom is a Slingerland Blue Sparkle ( wrap is in good shape ) has original rims, rods, tone control, and leg brackets. Needs new legs. The 13" tom also Slingerland. Issues - the wrap was spray painted black and two extra holes were added for a L-arm mount. Aside that the drum is sound. Now for the real fun - the two connected bass drums. One is unknown, the other is a Slingerland. Man this is the worst of it. All the lug holes were filled and someone drilled all new holes for the lugs they put on. A pearl tom holder was added as well. But aside that the drum is sound. Value wise they are far from collector pieces. I plan to re-wrap the drums in blue sparkle and make them into a great players kit. Hopefully in the next week or two they will be all set and I'll certainly post photos from the whole process. Got my work cut out on this one, but hey for $120 ( talked the guy down $30 ) you can't beat it.
