I want to put an iso mount on my 13" teardrop tom.
I want one that supports from the rim/ tension rods.
Who make the BEST after market iso mount.
p.s. money is not really an object here.
Thanx.

???
NO ONE has any experience with this???
Anyone know where some good info on this can be found?
I assume you're asking about the Pearl type iso mounts. If so, I can tell you I used them on a pair of Club Date toms years ago and it worked well. I recently rolled them out and used them on my Camco 12 and 13 at a gig. Even the guitar player noticed the difference.
Another plus is that they can be mounted on or removed from the drum in seconds.
KK. Thanx.
I looked at the Pearls but hear many reports of problems on larger toms.
I'm considering the RIMS system or the Gibraltar one but I'm still researching.
Possibly there is another system out there that I'm not aware of.
I use the Pearl Optimount on 12 and 13 rack toms (very heavy fibes with copper wrap) seem to work well very beefy never moves improvement in sound. Can't say how they would work on anything bigger tho.
I agree with johnl, pertaining to the Pearl Opti-mounts. Great stuff! I run a backline rental drum shop with 3 Pearl kits in stock. The Opti-mounts are well behaved with no issues, so far. I use them on drums as large as 16" and they get serious mileage, around here!
Gretsch makes a similar 4 point mount (2 upper & 2 lower), which also stays out of the way. Only the New Classic line uses these great mounts and it requires the Gretsch New Classic lug casings, as the casing is where the iso-mount attaches, rather than the tension rod. Great build quality, although it uses the Gretsch/DW 1/2" L-rod mounts which, I don't use on anything larger than a 13" drum, as larger drums wobble & dance too much to rack mount. Larger than 13" automatically gets legs. (for my personal kits) Pearl 7/8" tube receiver is more stable.
Tama makes a lovely drum hugging Iso-mount with a 7/16" L-rod mount which, attaches on 4 batter side points, unlike the Pearl & Gretsch New Classic, which attach at 2 batter side & 2 reso side points. The Tama requires a Tama batter side counter hoop to accommodate the mount.
DW is still among the best engineered & oldest design of an iso-mount system, however, it requires DW lug casings, as that is where the support is...on the casing. (as on the Gretsch New Classic )
The Gauger/RIMS is a good build quality but, they're a bit cumbersome and antiquated, as rack mounts go. I do like their floor tom leg kits. Hope I helped, without pontificating too long, for my first post.
