Just acquired an Island Music era 'Rogers' 6.5x14 snare shell. I picked it up for parts, the lugs specifically. Clearly it's inferior to earlier Big R and certainly my Cleveland Dyna. My question has to do with lug sizes (and forgive my obvious ignorance here, please): These lugs are significantly larger than those on my 5x14 Dyna. But were lugs on 6.5s ever larger than those found on 5s or were - as I suspect - lug sizes consistent regardless of depth? Thanks.

Island music era lugs were larger.
Rogers 5x and 6.5x drum lugs were the same size.

The Island era lugs also have enlongated holes when the tension screws inserts came through the casing.
