Is this P83 Strainer Repairable?

Loading...

The threaded ball has come apart from the slide plate of my P83 strainer (from my 1968 Ludwig Jazz Festival kit). Is there any way to repair this, or am I just gonna get screwed buying one.

Looks like you'll need a new one, unless you are micro welding expert.

I've got one like that. I was able to put it back together and re-peen it but it is not very strong. I am going to try to solder it to see if that will hold and if that doesn't work I am going to drill and tap it for a small flat head screw. I figure I have nothing to lose.
