Yes, I think it is. I don't think finishes like this were ever cataloged (I could be wrong about that), but I seem to remember reading that sometimes they were custom ordered for things like school bands and drum corps shows, etc.

The badges don't appear to be messed with and the job looks cleanly done. I'm 99% sure it's original.

The metal bass drum batter side hoop is not original, though and it has a "bite" taken out of one of the bearing edges.

Yes that set is 100% original finish.Ludwig in the 70s under the marching line of drums would do that type of pattern they had three patterns one band two color, two bands three colors and three bands 5 colors..That set is somewhat a rare set to come by think of the red, white, blue sets that you see..I would pick it up if i was you..Mikey

Okay....I'm on my Mac and I tried to right click to download the pictures so I could post them here, but it doesn't give me the correct prompt to do that. What do I need to do to post the EBay pictures here? Do I need to get permission from the seller to display the pictures here?

I bet this was ordered by a school originally for their "jazz band". I know the high school I went to used to have a kit similar to that, but I think it was just three band if my memory serves me correctly, red/silver/red as those were our school colors.
