Is this edge too far gone?

Can this be repaired? Was like this when I got them. Obviously someone got a little careless with a router somewhere along the line. Thanks.

have you put heads on it like it is and see how it sounded? sometimes stuff like this is surprising. if it sounds good, you could always smooth it out a bit with some fine sandpaper. edges cut be recut if they had to be. i'd try it first as is though.

Good call on the sanding. Luckily it's on the resonant head and once tuned sounds good. But I really would like it fixed as I'm like that, but I don't trust myself. Can anyone recommend someone for this job? Possibly in my area of south fl. If not I can probably just ship it. Thanks.

ahhhh.youve got the same problem that i have. with the head and hoop on no one would know it was like that but YOU. and thats the very person that it drives crazy right? i struggle with stuff like this a lot on an even smaller basis.

That edge needs to be recut. A good shop like Precision Drum could easily handle it...

According to the website, www.precisiondrum.com, they get $35 for a pair of edges on a 13" drum.
