Is this drum playable?

Loading...

I just grabbed this on eBay and I'm wondering what to expect.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rt=nc&nma=true&item=180600559488&si=cn6Vp0wsGopny90hmtPhf59F18c%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT

Single tension lugs and a (I think) double flange hoop. Certainly not the best of modern tuning design. LMAO

I'm not sure if I should expect to play this or if it's just a shelf sitter.

Anyone actually play drums this old and style?

Thanks

I wonder if the throw is original. It has the lugs as shown in the 1962 Classmate but the throw is more like 1964 Banner snare

Will it make noise when you hit it? Playable then, though I don't think death metal is going to be its forte. This is a student snare from late 50's, early 60's I believe. For what you paid, even if you don't play it, a nice piece for the collection.

CHeck under the throwoff of extra holes to see if the mouting is original to the shell.
