Is this an "Official" Slingerland part?

Loading...

Hey everyone,

Quick (and probably dumb) question:

Is the first photo attached an "official" Slingerland middle section for a flat base cymbal stand?

I have several Slingerland flat base cymbal stands with the aluminum legs (just like photo 2). I know what the solid rod top sections look like too (with the "double t-screw tilters"), but I have a hodge podge of middle sections (since Ludwig, Slingerland and the MIJ stuff were all compatible with each other), and I want to make sure all the official Slingerland stands have the correct parts.

Thanks for your help!

Since the mid-1950s I've acquired dozens of single-braced cymbal stands and many single-braced hi-hat stands. Some of them had brand names on them when I first got them. Most of them were generic stands that were sold by music stores with various brands of drums. Those generic stands and probably most of the stands with drum brand stickers on them were made by either Walberg & Auge or Camco. I have no idea which stand bases originally came with which middle tubes and which upper rods and tilters. If they work together, many combinations have been used on countless gigs. I still use these trusty old stands at home. I'd also use them on gigs if I still played out.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Thanks leedy. That's a great story. However, I still need an answer to my initial question.

Do any Slingerland fans know for sure if that part is correct or not?

Thanks.
