Hi Folks,

Quick question and apologies for the low quality picture.

I've never seen this finisch on Premier drums.

Somebody that can tell me if it's original and what it's called?

Thanks

From calfskin

I think it is called Bermuda Triangle.

Thanks.

If this wrap is original, it must be quite rare.

I can't find anything on the web.

I havenĀ“t seen it before - which is no guarantee for truth......

But I think it looks like a Fablon-type thin self-adhesive PVC coating for drawers and so on.

Not a Premier wrap, I think.

Kinda looks to me like flying over an upset ocean-----the Bermuda Triangle comment was obviously tongue in cheek. but regarding whether a wrap is original or not. I always look for clues, edge cutting, overlap, precision of holes, glue strength or type, badge fitting; but that said , some aftermarket jobs can be pretty good and some factory jobs pretty bad.

I have seen similar wrap on other brands and wrap is a pretty stable item if well cared for; older wrap can sit around for quite a while. I think the question could be reformed to include an ammendment;---- did Premier do custom jobs? I know that some companies would and some odd uncatalogued items would show up . In Premier's case this may be true because isn't the 4 x 14 rootbeer swirl early 60's snare drum, pictured with R.S. , supposedly an anomaly?

Actually Carlton had a similar wrap back in the mid to late 30s, it was called Wavy Water

What ever that so called Premier wrap is, I've never seen another one, don't think it's Premier
