Is my Acrolite really 1964?

Loading...

Hi there VDF folks.

I was cleaning and lubing my Acro and just started looking the grommet at the inside, the snare beds, checked the hoops and lugs they're not magnetic and looked the shell is seamless. And I wonder, is really a 1964 one? What do you think, guys?

Nice Acro. The lugs have never been magnetic, & the shells have always been seamless, except for the textured 1st generation ones....marko

As stated above, definitely a 1964. Appears to be in excellent condition, too! The original COB just add to the value and will really make your Acro sing! And, let's face it, having the red felt muffler is just plain cool! Hang onto to this drum!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Acrolites did come with COB hoops during the same period that Supras and other drums did. And yes, that's a '64. Nice!

Yes....to pile on and become redundant. ;) It's a '64 and yes it has COB hoops -as does my '64 Pioneer....except my Pioneer has NOB hoops!
