Another example of knowing nothing about vintage MIJ drum kits!

From idrum4fun

I just sent the seller a message - teaching them about these - suggesting a 200 price tag - which is just about right (or a bit high). Those ARE the earlier shells (early/mid 60s) and those shells will typically sound better than the later ones (despite the later ones also sounding wonderful if 'set up' right).

Always playing teacher - in the blood.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

the thing is, ASKING price and the actual SOLD price are two entirely different things

a sure fire way to know that someone is out to lunch is when their ads get repeatedly re-posted (although that applies to anything, really)

the good or fair "deals" are usually gone in an instant... that red kit seller has a half dozen other items, all with "0" bids

I love to play "drum police" when the situation warrants it, as this one did. I chose not to contact the seller and am glad you did. Let's see what happens!

I'm always tempted to do the same. But I know it ****es people off so now I just watch in morbid fascination while they learn the obvious the hard way. By the way did you notice the shipping price? $200, this guy is seriously out to lunch.

Now no need to be bashing the seller - as it is evident to me that he is just setting the price out of ignorance and not conceit or something. He answered back to me, thanking me for being 'someone who really has helped me'

Let's see what changes.

There are alot of people out there who have no idea about the difference between American and MIJs. We shall be thankful for these people, for more than one reason!

But Dude, $200 for shipping? That's beyond gouging. It's practically criminal.
