I always wanted to know! I have one that I'm pretty sure was originally wrapped, then un-wrapped(hah!) and painted black. Sounds pretty good, but no idea if it's a Jazz Fest or not.

The Jazz Festival is an 8 lug drum.
There were two 8 lug drums at that time. The Jazz Festival and the Super Classic.
They had different strainers.
Interestingly in the catalogs the Super Classic had a 5 1/2" depth shell and the Jazz Festival had a 5" shell.
They used what they had at the time and there are plenty of Jazz Festivals wih 5 1/2" shells.
