Intl. strainer on metric snare

Hi!

I got a metric snare drum. I put extra spacers under the lugs and fitted it with intl. hoops and heads. I also use intl. strainer.

The problem is that the snare doesn't have enough sensitivity and doesn't sound very well.

Do you think that could be because of the slightly oversized strainer? Do you have any experience in this matter? What strainers do you use for your metric drums?

Thanks,

Jan

Sounds like bearing edge problem.

Do you use heads and snare as usual?

Hi Jan.

I suppose that it does not depend on whether it is the metric or inch.

Maybe partly it can depend from some difference between head size and shell dia.

Cheers,

George.
