I must be mechanically challenged, but can someone explain to me how to mount the new Gretsch microsensitive strainer? When I put the screws in they seem to hit the hinge post. I must be doing something wrong. Help!! Eye Ball

I bought one a few months ago and just put it straight on where my original MS strainer was - no problems at all - it fit perfect.
Can you provide a few photos?

The problem is that the mounting screws seem too long. Is there some sort of backing plate that goes on the inside of the shell that I may be missing? I checked a bunch of photos and it appears I'm doing everything correctly. I attached a few photos. Notice the ones where the mounting screws are hitting the hinge post - yet the screws are not all the way flush to the inner shell. Thanks.

I will check my drum later today - I'm in the middle of Grouting bathroom tile and doing baseboard stuff...........house reno....freakin never ending haha.
