Johnnyringo-- I care somewhat because it bugs me that some jerk can try to sell this stuff as if to say we're all ignorant and don't know the actual value of drums, or hoping to reel in some clueless kid starting out and pass the drums off as valuable as say, a Ludwig kit..Guys like that rub me the wrong way, but i guess there'll always be bum holes like that around...I also don't see why it should bother you what i think about his asking price... Not trying to stir up any debate or animosity here so we'll just leave it at that, just thought i'd post this for people to see the rampant ignorance that is out there regarding the vintage drum market in my area.. Furthermore , i have no interest in the kit, even though it is in great shape.. But we all know why i, or anyone in their right mind wouldn't buy this kit..With that being said, it's all cool.. ;)
I understand and I'm not to stir up anything, but I've seen a lot of kits, even nice ones, that people are asking too much for. There's a local guy trying to get $1600 for a wmp Ludwig. It's a nice enough kit, but it has modern maple wood hoops, so it's not even original. I've seen all original ones sell for less than his price. I offered him $1,000 and he just laughed. So his kit is still sitting around waiting for some sucker to give him what he's asking, so be it, that's just how some people are.
