That's a pretty good deal for those drums. I think that the lugs and threaded rods holding the two blue drums together can stay locked in place with locking nuts at each end. Should we assume that there is no snare mechanism for the top shell of the conjoined pair? I probably bruised my own backside from kicking myself when I saw how freaking easy it would have been to make my own cocktail pedal mounting bracket with a piece of metal strap like the two pieces mounting my garage door opener to the ceiling. Is that stuff called a strap? Instead, I searched for a few years to find a mounting bracket online.

They say in the description that one set of threads is reversed. Not all that difficult to do if you are a competent machinist.

Those tension rods look customized. It looks like they maybe reversed the upper swivel nut to accept the threading?

If one set of the lugs or swivel nuts is reverse-threaded, it makes sense that the tension rods with reverse-direction threads would be tightened in one direction to hold the two shells together. Now, my question is this: how do you turn the tension rod? Do you wrap a soft cloth around a small section of threads and use pliers to turn the rod?

Concerning those custom tension rods, my guess is that they are easily hand-tightened to be able to hold the shells together.
