Information Needed On Old Gretsch Kit Please Last viewed: 16 minutes ago

Here are some more pictures, before I start cleaning them up...take a look at the bass drum, it has the lights in them. I assume that is not original. There are no extra holes are anything, the string is used to hold the lights...any advice or info very very much appreciated on this project.

Super find/buy, congrats! One bit of advise.. Do Not use water on the insides of the drums, The date stamp is most likely water based and water will remove it. Take your time and enjoy the cleaning process, it will be the most fun you can have if your not a drummer! And as Tony The Tiger says "They're Great!"

Those hats are beautiful, and looks like they've rarely, if ever, been polished. Paper labels and black ink intact!

Very nice find! Wow!

It looks like a 47 BroadKaster kit to me.

Clean it gently....as I'm sure you will...and have fun doing it.

I love reading about and seeing stuff like this.

lLot of those old bass drums had lighting - used to keep the calfhide head warm and tight - constant temp. This was before plastic heads. I can't tell you that it's factory but it's probably been there a while. I'd keep it in place - very cool.......cool as in hip....not the temperature.
