Info on Premier Projector

Nice kit, awesome sizes. I almost pulled the trigger on a Projector with a hard to find 20" x 18" depth bass drum. The guy simply wanted too much for it.

As have been stated in the different posts - 1985 seems right, a very early mk. I Projector.

The Polychromatic Red is a quite common Premier coating, though I havenĀ“t seen it on Projectors.

The 18" kick will absolutely add to the value of the kit, as will the 14" floortom.

Check if the 10" is International in size and fits modern heads - the 10" was the last to be sold in Pre-International sizes. If it is International, it is a quite rare item, and will also add to the value of the kit - and suit the generally small sizes well.

As a players kit, they will make a great kit, the shells more round than previous Premiers due the ply rings.

Some people dislike birch a little for its bright, punchy sound - that would be about the only detractor on a kit like this. Spares are easy to find on ebay.uk, on the various Facebook groups for Premier drums or on mikedolbear.com - THE british forum.

All lugs are Beverley bassdrum lugs.

Regards

Jon

Premierprojector

I remember working in my local music shop in summer of 1980. Premier were the only drums in the shop then. I remember drooloing over a Resonator set.

Find all the info you need on Projector here :-

I had all the catalogues from 1978 onwards, got shut of them years ago though. Wish I'd kept them all now.
