Hi all info needed on a sonor drum kit i am planning on buying.Can anyone please help with identifying what model sonor drum kit this is what wood type and possible value.I have attached some pics,any info is greatly appreciated,thanks Tony.

That`s a Champion Five. It`s from 70-75. it will be 12x8 13x9 16x16 22x14 and they went out with a 14x5 D454 snare although you could get what you wanted. It`s six ply Beech wood with rounded edges. I`m ruling out the Super Champion nine ply 45 edges because they all had ten lug BD`s.

You can`t go wrong with that kit and it will clean up very well.

You`ll get 5 or 6 hundred all day for it but they are starting to become in demand again and value will go up. All the SONOR geeks want them now. Very, very tough kit. It falls in between Teardrops and Phonics.

When you get it, their will be a three digit date stamp inside, the first digit is the year and the last two the month.

You canĀ“t go wrong with them! Absolutley great kits...even when the are very heavy to bring them to a gig:-)

I have one in metallic red and i love that kit!

A few years ago they were going for less,450.00 ish,but those are nice because of the standard depths.I believe there is review of this series from a major drum mag at the sonor museum site.
