Recently purchased a 8 piece Rogers kit, but by appearances of the hardware can tell from different series. Skins all generally match but only have 2 badges, without serial number stamped. I've tried to search to identify the badge and possible year of manufacture, but I can't seem to match. Any ideas or info. Also like I said the lug hardware varies on the toms, and again looking for anything that might help me ID this nice set. Been drumming since 69 and have owned Slingerland, Gretsch and Rogers but this baffles me.
Info needed Rogers kit Last viewed: 1 day ago
The experts will chime in soon. Looks like you have a later Rogers kit. Not considered a true Rogers. the other drum looks like an MIJ Ludwig Knockoff.
At first I thought that lug on the left might be a Rogers 360, but no, it's not quite rounded enough. I wonder if any of the drums are true Rogers. Pictures of the entire set will tell the whole story, but I have a feeling that this is not going to have a happy ending.
Happy is relative. These are the Chinese shell Rogers put out by Yamaha the last couple of years. Entry level all the way.
Not real Rogers at all. Made in the last 5-6 years, these are generic Taiwan entry-level drums with stickers on them that say Rogers. Unfortunate for the owner, to say the least.
Not sure who distributed these, Brook-Mays, Yamaha, etc. It doesn't matter, though.
Most likely yamahas answer to the Brook Mays Rogers Resurrection...... a wooden stake in the heart.
Damn them.

Just another reason why I hate Pearl so bad...Sumo Dude

You guys are so funnyLoLoLoLo
So, let's say these cheap (in every way) "Rogers" drums gets into the hands of a beginning drummer who connects with drumming because she could afford this Taiwanese kit. Let's say a month to a year later this drummer realizes how lousy her cheap kit is and upgrades to a 'true' Rogers kit because she connected her love of drumming with that crappy Rogers-like kit. She'd probably find VDF for guidance and info on Rogers drums to help her locate and purchase, maybe renovate, a fine, vintage Rogers classic.
I'd say this piece of firewood kit has done more than just warm hands...
My own entry into drumming began on a broken down, cheap, Taiwanese, PDP kit. 3+ years and 4 vintage kits later, I finally found an awesome Slingerland Stage Band I could afford and that wasn't too beat up to fix...and I'm in heaven.
Thank you to a crappy Taiwanese kit that got me into drumming, the cheap but great sounding '66 Star kit that got me hooked on vintage drums, & MOST thanks to the Vintage Drum Forum members for helping me learn about, appreciate, and love vintage drums.
Just saying...flower
