I'm losing this auction- Pearl President 69

Loading...

A sad day but I 'm losing this auction right now - it`s a full kit- 1969 Pearl President fiberglass kit (black oyster pearl) with original hardware and a 10 lug Pearl Deluxe snare in gold gliltter. I was in for it all the way up to 650$ but now, with one day to go it is inching towards 700$. I can get alot with 700$- so given the rust ( other close up photos on the auction show some heavy rust/pitting on the hoops and mild on all the lugs) and no interior shots of this kit I am considering ending my bidding. With 700$ I am thinking to instead go for a really vintage Yamaha I have my eye on... But input is desired and check out the photos!

I think the vintage Yamaha is a better choice. Better wood, better construction, better resale I'd think.

It's what I'd do ;)

I paid 350 for a NOS Star kit in BDP with a snare drum and Star snare and hat stand...I,d leave that kit for someone else.Like they say about the ebay train...another will be along shortly.

Hit like you mean it!!

I absolutely agree with the others here. Let this one go. It's a cool one, but there are others. The Yamaha will be a nice kit if that one ends up under your roof.

Hey there,

Thanks. This President kit is about 40 minutes from me here in Japan so I wouldn`t even have to ship it.... but I did decide to pass it up. Maybe it`s hard to understand but in Japan the Pearl President kits, especialy these early jazz versions- say 69-73 go for top dollar ( or top yen, lol!) After the President model then the early YD9000 (Yamaha) are the highest in re-sale value. I would like to own one but it actually looks like it may be cheaper to buy one on Ebay and ship it to myself here. I`m telling you - Pearl President kits are real collector's items here. I`ll report back about it`s final auction selling price tomorrow. Really appreciate you opinions on it. Happy holidays!Sumo Dude

That is a sad deal. I understand the desire, but for that I am in agreement with everyone else as well. I would have got off that train at 350. Happy Holidays to you!!

Auction ends in 20 minutes- it is currently at 90,000yen!!! No sh%t

That is about 950$. CRAZY

I told you, they are PRESIDENT crazy here. If you have a Pearl President kit then consider selling it in Japan or atleast shipping your EBAY auction internationally.
