I'll get by with a little help from friends....

Anything you might be able to help with would really be a big help. Have a little cash if needed. I am going to help the boy, but he knows naught at this point. I am going to talk to his parents today. My plan is to have him put in some "sweat equity" by helping work on it, and about $20.00 cash for some help with parts. the reason I going to ask him for cash as well as sweat is so that he will have some investment in the kit and will be more prone to not let anything happen to it while he is "borrowing" my drums. Then, after an appropriate amount of time, I will hand over the keys. BTW, I picked up this Rogers HH stand that we could work out a trade for some stuff, or maybe someone has the rest of the missing parts and would be willing to sell me them to complete it? Can anyone tell me about it first, please? PM with any ideas!

There is/was some surface rust in two spots, cleaned right off, and is now shiny. I will post an "after" shot when it is done. I honestly did not know it was even there.

If you're offering a trade, I'll pony up some cool stuff for that hihat stand. I'm looking for a Rogers Swivo stand and as it turns out, I do have some extra stuff. Let me know if you're interested. I've got some of the heads and some rods and whatnot. I don't want to take advantage, so allow someone else to set the tone of the deal. That way, you and I will feel comfortable with the outcome. Thanks.

You did notice it is missing some parts? The clutch most notably...I want you to understand, if we do put something together, this hi-hat is not perfect. There is some minor pitting. Thing is tho, I am going to need another hi-hat for the boy. I am really on the fence. I want to make a deal, but at the same time I know I will need one, and this is a nice one. So, I am in a quandary. I don't need a Rogers part, you do. So I am ????? i hate it when I get in this kind of situation, especially when I have a nice piece that would better suit another. I'm just that kinda guy.

As far as I know, the footies ain't there. Look it over closely, I want to know what else is missing, because I don't know this piece. Looks like what I call the "plate", the rest for the bottom hat.

You see, I am a drum tech, and I am out of practice at that. My brother was a great drummer, and he has been gone for 10 years, and now I am picking up where I left off then, learning to play along with my son. So I want to make sure it is what it's supposed to be. And don't worry, I won't let you take too much advantage of me.:D

Now, let's look at it this way. Do you have a non-descipt or more budget minded hi-hat stand that works well and makes no noises? And maybe a couple of the other items on the list, and we could work it that way....sound like a winner?

I have a very nice hihat that I would gladly trade you. I have a fairly modern high end Tama and Yamaha. I'll pick the better of the two and offer that up to you. I understand what it is you are doing and would be honored to assist. Pics to follow.

Well, along with the hi-hat, came a TAMA pedal, so, might as well make a set. Give me a day two to get it all packed up. I'll PM the address.Excited

And then this afternoon, I got a reply to the post on CL, and got a decent set of 14" Sabian hats.

Cool. You will need to pick up a clutch. Maybe someone on here has an extra generic one for you. That's the only piece you won't have. The Tama stand is a nice one. It pivots so you can adjust the legs around the pedal. Neat stand. It's cool watching this come together.
