Hi all,

I am new here, please be gentle.

I was hoping that those of you out there in the know would be able to help me figure out the value of two snare drums I have in my possession.

The first is an Olympic [made in England by Premier] 14x5.5" chrome snare - model number 02952. From research I think it's 1970's?

The other is a Roger's Dyna-Sonic Custom Built snare - I think from around 1964.

I've got some pictures to help. I know that they are in bad condition and things are missing like a few lugs here and there and the thread on the Roger's snare throw-off is buggered and there's pitting, and rust, etc.

I am going to chuck them up on eBay but just wondered what a knowledgable person thinks before doing so. Are they worth anything to a restorationist or shall I give them away?

Thanks for all your thoughts and input. It's really appreciated.

joe

Unfortunately you only have a Rogers Dynasonic shell due to the missing parts. The tension rods are incorrect, the bottom hoop is incorrect, needs a new strainer, the top hoop may be incorrect (can't really tell from the photo) and it is missing the snare frame.

BTW - it is an English built Dynasonic so to get it correct could be rather expensive as it would require a first generation snare frame and tall hoops. I suspect the script logo is also missing as the pins holding it on usually broke off.

Not sure what to tell you re it's value other than not much as it sits. Put it on the Bay with an accurate description and a $0.99 starting bid. Let the market decide.
