Identifying these Slingerland drums.....

From binskyhere

DrCJW,I checked the snare drum and it does not have a date stamp on the inside. It does look like solid maple in there. Does this diminish the cost of the set or is the correct snare for it? As a point of reference, what would a set from this year be worth? I'm not selling it :)Thanks,Eddie

Don't sell it, don't modify it AT ALL as that will DIMINISH the value, just clean it up and use it on gigs that you can be sure there will be no harm to the drums.

Awesome kit, please don't ruin it.

I will leave it exactly as it is. I'm trying to find an original strainer for it but am having no luck. Any recommendations as to where I can get one?

Thanks,

Eddie

If you mean the snare wires, puresound makes replacements...you can use any brand with snare string on that throw off. (The strainer is the actual throw off, not the wires.) If, by "strainer" you actually need a new one, nobody makes a new one to fit the existing three holes. You can often find used ones on ebay. Don't drill...

RATS!! Maybe my kit... which I thought was Krupa kit is not a Krupa after all..??

If you don't want it any more, I'll give it a good home.

It's a cherry kit! Love that blue. Great looking Old Time radio ya got there too.

We have similar tastes.

Rich,

I've been looking on Ebay for a strainer with no luck. Have any other ideas? Thanks for the reply!

Eddie..

Sorry I couldn't figure out from reading what part you were looking for... I was never clear whether it was the wires or the strainer?

If you set me straight I will be happy to help you go searching... I really enjoy the hunt.
