I appreciate all the advice guys/gals. I'm still waiting for pics of the shell's insides, but I think I'm going to pass on these... too many red flags and I don't have the experience to be sure. At best, I think these are some sort of hybrid.vintagemore2000, if you ever decider to sell the kit you pictured here, let me know :-)Thanks again,v

You would need to speak with my best friend Kevin he's the happy proud owner of this kit now, But I have a feeling it's not for sale.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

As much as I love mid 20th century Slingerland drums and their beautiful version of Black Diamond Pearl, I love my 1964 SlingerLeedy Shelly Manne set even more. The sizes are 14x20, 16x16, 9x13, 5.5x14 Shelly Manne snare. I have a Shelly Manne hihat and Shelly Manne bass drum pedal which are really the top end Slingy pedals with the Shelly Manne footboards.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

VM2000 is yet again, correct. The stamps in the shells sometimes also indicate manufacturing date.
