Identifying a yard sale find

Loading...

Happy Thanksgiving!

I picked up a pair of Zildjian hi-hat cymbals at a yard sale today, and I was wondering if anybody can help me identify them. They sound "better" than the ZBT/S series, but I don't know for sure.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!!

Looks like you scored on a set of top-of-the-line Zildjian A cymbals. I'm not really good at looking at the stamp and figuring out what year they might be. Others here know way more than I do and should respond soon. Again, really nice cymbals. What size are they?

I agree with the 1970s but I'm not sure how you can be 100% sure they are New Beats from the photo of the trademark stamp. :D

Based on the proportion of New Beats vs matched pairs (similar weight top and bottom) vs Rock Hats (heavier) from that decade New Beats are most likely, but the weights will reveal which model even though the model ink has gone.

Here is my brief history of New Beats:

and info on expected prices assuming they are 14" so you can see how thankful you should be:

and how to identify a 70s stamp:

Enjoy your new hats.

Thanks, everybody!

1970s, maybe New Beats... so I guess my $25 was well spent? (laughing)
