Identifying a rewrap slingerland snare drum

Loading...

I have recieved a slingerland 66 snare diamond pearl finish. I am told it is grey diamond pearl and it is original.I don't believe it.

The shaell seems original.

I believe it is a rewrap. All my slingerland snare drums seams have the snare bracket (opposit side from the strainer ) over the seam. (the seam is between the bracket bolts that attach to the drum).

This particular drum's seam is aprx an inch from the bracket to the right.

I own black diamond pearl finish drums and I am very familar with theses finishes.

Please advise

Thanks

Hard to tell anything without photos. Take shots of the seam, the grommet and some others, and we'll see.

Although the seam is usually centered behind the the butt, there are exceptions.

I would check the Slingerland drum finishes on this site. Slingerland Sky Blue Pearl will fade to a grey, and to some will look to be a diamond pearl. Take a lug off. If it is original, it will be faded, and a rewrap will not. Hope this helps, Bub
