Hey all.. Just needed someone to clearly identify this Rogers snare drum, as i am not a Rogers expert.. From what i've seen up here on this forum, i believe this is a Powertone ?, but i'm not sure..

Can anyone tell me the year and how much these go for these days ?

Seller is asking $40 for both snare drums.. I am aware that the other is a cheapo beginner snare drum, but he won't separate the two..

At that price, i think it's a steal.. Anyone else ?

Sometimes you really should trust your gut. It is gone.

A totally worthless piece of import junk. You really did miss a bad one.

I hope that makes you feel better............ because it was a Powertone, and a super great score on a drum you would keep rather than flip once you played it.

Good luck on the next one.

Anytime you see those Beavertail Lugs, and that Script Logo...... drop the dime. It is gonna be good. Unless of course it is a rust bucket.

Thanks Ploughman, i will !.. I know i'm no Rogers expert, but i can differentiate vintage Rogers, even the Yamaha made era Rogers, but have a hard time identifying them by model and year.. I bet I will see that snare back up for sale.. I just researched a bit of the Powertone snares, and they can bring as much as a Supraphonic of the same era...

If that one has all working parts, it will clean up nicely and give the lucky buyer two things.. An awesome vintage Rogers snare drum, or a decent flip..

Cheers,

Rob

I would rather have the COB Powertone than the supra.

Sorry you missed the Powertone. Plenty out there and think I paid $175 worth every dollar and then some.

Lot of folks that just read this board. Good idea to just post the pictures of something you need help on. The complete link to an item opens it up for anyone to buy.

Quality shows... be it Rogers, Slingerland, DW, Gretsch, Ludwig or whatever. You really don't need to see the name or even have a great picture. When the price tag is that low... most anyone can risk what they cannot see against what they can see... when what you can see screams quality.
