Thankyou very much!

That's almost like a Premier Royal Ace 4" deep. Since it's an early version from the late 50's it's proper name is "Super 4". Three ply birch shell with solid beech re-rings.

Thanks very much. I've now found it in the 1958 catalogue! It seems to be quite a rare drum - what would you say its worth?

Hello,

Wow - nearly a 'pancake' snare with a parallel strainer ...!

Never seen such a small (in height) snare with a parallel mechanism before.

And it's solid. I love my vintage Premier Aluminium shell snare with that system (Flobeam called) and it still works smooth like on the first day.

Only that uninspired white wrap is boring ...

Considering the apparent nice/ excellent condition, my guess would be EUR 200 or even more.

Greetings - R.

Yeaper.. Super 4 (not Ace)

I have the whole complete 1958 original set minus the seat. I had all the wrap removed off the maple shells as the wrap was in nasty condition and refinished the whole set in a light cherry stain including the birch super 4 snare. the best sounding and looking kit ive EVER owned to date. But lately Ive been thinking hard about selling them. I play often and I'm not sure if I really want to chance playing this kit out more often... then the flip side is do they deserve to just be stored away? :)
