I'd very much like to hear this one

18" "thin" intermediate K.

Unfortunately he doesn't offer a sound file. But instinct tells me that this cymbal has potential to be a great one. Unfortunately the price is way too high. And no returns makes it impossibe to even consider.

But I'm intrigued by the fact that at 1535 grams it's still classified as a "thin". Maybe it plays like a thin despite that weight. And with an ample bell like that, there should be lots of tonality in it too. And I like cymbals with larger bells for that very reason. But I have a feeling that this one is going to remain unsold for a very long time. Maybe he likes it enough so to him it doesn't really matter if he sells it or not. Who knows?

the seller- bought everything on ebay - at one time- and now tries to sell it all back- on ebay . knows next to nothing about cymbals never won't even discuss a best offer I predict he'll die with every one of them. Cynical- when he/she/it/ bought everything that everyone else was interested---and then comes back----and tries reselling them- at inflated prices. Don't like the seller at all..

Intermediate 18" that bell does look extra large- mines about 1477---nice sticky Ride indeed. With plenty of/ Side Stick /lightning strikes.

That seller irritates me. I don't think it's/ he/ she/ it/ is a musician at all what so ever. More a mail order bride salesperson or some android.

He'll sit on something for twenty years rather letting others enjoy it. Greedy.

No worries, with the tanking world economy, he could very well die with those cymbals. He gambled, and he lost.

Every cymbal that had action- Paiste/Italian/ A/ old K/ didn't matter/ ... he just wanted to be last bidder. Then turns around relists it with an inflated price.. what's that called...

There used to be a guy on cymbalholic and DFO who called himself Kstasher. As you might imagine, he was buying old K's left and right. It very well could be the guy trying to sell this 18". He was one of the most obnoxious Internet presences I have ever encountered. He'd gloat about his huge collection of K's and start arguments with everyone in sight when they tried to put him in his place. Then, he disappeared. Back then, DFO had it's share of a-holes polluting the forum. One guy in particular was the worst; an obnoxious, sarcastic pri** who fought with everyone for about two years, until we put a lot of pressure on the powers that be and he was thrown off when he started calling people names. We had a feeling he was a percussion industry insider gone berserk who had a gripe against DFO. I think I know who it was, but am not at liberty to say. His initials were JH, a total crackpot I had dealings with.

There was another turkey who was thrown off multiple times and always came back under another name. He was an Englishman, a notorious scam artist, who lived in LA. At one point, he registered as Sonorgirl. I remember reading he was arrested for trying to cheat someone out of money. He bragged for months that he was starting a custom drum company. It was all BS. Then, there was the California chiropractor, a non-drummer, who called himself Vito and tried to act Italian and insult everybody in sight. He finally got kicked off too.

I too think $924-an odd amount-is way too high for that cymbal. I wouldn't pay it. I'm still of the opinion that you can get cymbals today that sound just as good for a fraction of the money people are spending for old K's. Some old A's are dark and dirty and rival K's in sound. But, you know that already.

I agree with everything you said in the post One exception here- you may not expect or think. What can't be found- not talking about 2000$ and 2500$ 20" and 22" old Ks------I'm talking about the little old Ks. 14s 16s and to a very large extent- 18's-------- how old Ks sound perform and act ..

It's the opposite of what "most people" think... Z's Large new K's are pretty doggone serious so old K 20s and old K 22s can be, put down , skipped, suspended....

I find it's the 14s the 16s and 18s.. Nobody make those ...like Old K did. You see I think, today's drummers aren't as interested in the smaller ones....So majority of the R&D today, goes into 20s and 22s and 24s...

.. those little old Ks, 14s, 16s or 18s, are what can make a cymbal set unique.

Secret weapons one can add to a big new Avedis 22 K.

Then, everybody's happy, you have the vintage and the modern, in one set of cymbals.
