Billy, besides the pix of the wrap and badge, we also will need more pix and info, such as the lugs, the shell make up and the sizes as well. It is almost impossible to get anything more than an era for these MIJ drums, but without GOOD quality pix, we stand little to no chance of getting you the info you seek. That wrap, if original, is super coolio funkadelic! My first inclination, for that very reason, is to say it is a Star line, but have never seen Ibanez. My guess is that Star did own the name and was building the guitars in the family business. Star was the original drum division of the Hoshino family business and I believe they did build Ibanez guitars, so the drums are likely Star made drums. The badge seems to be a Star badge, but without the goods, we only speculate.

Here is the proof of the pudding. Hoshino Gakki indeed owns the Ibanez and TAMA brands, as the old family references I had are correct.

Here are the pix of this Star kit, indeed a Star. Nice wrap, these are likely from the early 70s, 71-73.

I believe that jonnistix is right on! I am no guitar player but, I do know, from discussions with people in the music business that Tama, which of course started as Star, is still making some very nice guitars. Ibanez though sounding Spanish, is one of them. The guitar player in my band has a beautiful Ibanez along with Fenders and a Paul Reed Smith (I think that's the right name).I have never seen a set of Ibanez drums though. Trust jonnitix on his explanation. He's a great teacher!
