Hi i'm chesterpesterd and i'm new to this whole computer thing. by this I mean that I have a dregree in comp. sci. but have never owned one, so bear with me. to start off with I have a classic 70's amber vistalite set I was told when I bought it that it was one of three hundred set's meade after the set jon bonham played for the song remains the same tour of which I do not know if it's true or not. it also came with hard sided cases and paiste 2002 red lable cymbles. here are the sizes and sr#'s ( snare is a 14x6 sr.#1210920 mounted tom 12x8 sr.# 1217333 mounted tom 13x9 sr.# 1211545 floor tom 16x16 sr.#1216368 base 22x17 sr.#1186379 the cymbles are a 22" power ride sr#348434 18" crash sr#379121 17" crash sr#387669 14" top&bottom medium hihat sr#'s are top 322298 & bottom 322297 and a DW5000 base kicker. my questions are how do I trace the history ( I know the previous owner) and what is the current value. I want to put them on the market, due to I can no longer play. ( car vs. motorcycle accident, I was on the bike)

Bonham's kit was different sizes, also if you have red label Paiste's they are probably newer than the kit. By the serial numbers, the Paistes are probably early 80's (the first number is the second letter of the year, i.e. 322298 is 1983) the hi-hats are the matched set. As far as the kit, the 121 puts it at 1976. Value is what some one would pay and how badly they want it.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....
