I came across this when I was cruising through Kijiji...It`s something you don`t see everyday!! And he`s open to trades too!!

Here is the ad and pic:

Hi. I have here a bucket drum kit i made. The frame is an old BBQ frame and i used buckets and cut them to different sizes to get differnet pitches. Also, i used a broken Sabian B8 crash cymbal and cut it to make a smaller cymbal and a set of chimes. Make me an offer. Open to trades

Cheers

Those "chimes" are very clever indeed. Wonder what they sound like? Think of the dozens of dollars you could make with your new Super Corner Bucket Ringotech IV drum kit.

Don't knock the buckets! There was a kid who used to sit by the park on West 4th Street in Manhattan that really cleaned up on week-ends playing three 5 gallon buckets. He was real good. Crowds of people would gather to listen and they would throw bills and change into a fourth bucket he had out for the purpose. That kid was raking it in banging on those tubs. Low overhead business!

I found this on You Tube... check this kid out!

Oh that is exactly what I am talking about, only now with the Super Corner Bucket Ringotech IV drum kit you can deploy and strike quickly, move from corner to corner for new customers in no time and you don't have to sit on a bucket to play it. Might miss the stick on the concrete sound though.

Now, they COULD be vintage. I'm vintage... and while in college in the early to mid 1970s I worked at a couple of different fast-food places... and even way back then we got dill pickles in 5 gallon plastic buckets! :)

True. Might be tough to place a date on a plastic bucket. No badge, no tell-tale specific plastic layups, there may be a serial number embedded in the mold somewhere but I doubt we have a vintage guide for that and I think satin white has been an available color for most of their manufacturing history.

In all fairness I always enjoy listening to the bucket and the pots and pans drummers on street corners.
