I hate the Zoomatic...any ideas?

I love my Slingerland snare drum, but the Zoomatic is just not to my liking.

I see they made something called a "Rapid" strainer, would that fit?

It looks similar to a Ludwig P-85, which is the best IMHO.

I know a guy made something called a PrestoPlate which woulda probably

been the solution, but he no longer sells them.

Any help at all greatly apprediated

Hi Perry, I know what you mean! I bought a Slingerland "Sound King" some weeks ago. It has a zoomatic strainer and the original was not working. The drum itself is a dream and is the best I have ever played on in my life.

I then bought myself another zoomatic on ebay. This one just works like a Swiss clock. Now I have a fully equipped and working Slingerland brass snare 6.5" x 14".

So buy yourself a another zoomatic strainer is my advice! singer

By the way, do you have the no 978 or 979 "Zoomatic Strainer" model ??
