I found a 1960's Pearl snare drum at work today.

So let us get this straight. You last played in February. You played in the band for 10 years. ...and you are going to get rid of all your drum stuff and quit playing just because that group split up?

You must not be a drummer.

You must just be a guy who used to hit drums with sticks.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Nah. When my band split up I decided to take the drums back to my parents' house. My dad needs them more than I do since his old 70/80's band are making a reunion album.

My interest in playing has died over the last two years. Four years ago I played in two bands, two orchestras and a marching band + smaller side projects. I loved it. Totally. But nowadays I'm writing and producing/programming music in my spare time. It feels weird that I went from playing so much to moving away and not playing at all.

It's not like I donated the drum kit to a school in Senegal. It's in my parents' house. I'm probably still a drummer.

Sorry for writing like a hamster. I'm on my phone and English is not my native language.

By the sounds of it I,d say you are a very good drummer!.You cant be a slouch to play in a marching band, and the orchestra likely had you reading charts....AND; you are a lot easier to understand than some of the "local"super stars around here.

Hit like you mean it!!

+1 Well stated Wayne!!

Shipping to the US would be too expensive. Maybe clean it up and surprise your Dad? Can't ever have enough snares and as posted this one is nice.

Nothing special here but I like them.

That's good to know that they (drums) will only be so far away as your parents' house. Great that your Dad's band is reuniting! Also great that you are still musical indeed - just exploring other roles in it.

....and if English is not your native language - I would say your English is indeed most excellent!

Thanks for the explanation - now we will not be bummed for you - no reason!

Anyone have a photo of a Pearl Rogers clone muffler? I have some shells that have that hole pattern, never seen the mufflers though
