I find this seller insulting.

Curious. Using scantily clad women to sell things? How is this insulting vs any other advertising that uses that ploy? ... which is a large percentage.

I'm not insulted by it. But for me, it takes away from what I'm really trying to look at. When my brain is on drums, lady get out of the way,lol

I agree that this "ploy" has been used countless times to sell/promote items. But I don't feel it's necessary, or even required, to sell/promote vintage drum hardware. And, it also completely unnecessary to resort to these tactics on eBay.

Again, I'm not so much insulted by this, but just find it in poor taste to stoop to this to sell vintage drum hardware.

Gosh! What a bunch of sticks in the mud!

One of the oldest rules of sales: sex sells!

Get over it. Just because it happens to be used on vintage drums gear this time, so many of you are off the rocker.

Jeez! Lighten up and drop the political correctness.:2Cents:

Yes sex does sell, and in certain avenues I look for it. I expect it at Tattoo conventions, car shows, and the like. But if ( me personally ) I'm looking for a vintage piece of hardware I don't need to be distracted by sex. In this case I know what I want and don't need her to sell it. But what comes to mind is this " is the product flawed? " why do you need a girl to sell a 1970's Slingerland hi-hat stand to a guy who is looking for exactly that. She honestly took away from the detail of the stand, actually distracting me from what I wanted to look at. The quality and condition should sell it if the price is reasonable and the condition is good.

Like everything I think it has a time and a place. Putting sex with vintage drums is not needed ( to me at least ) I mean heck, I don't see any pretty ladies in the majority of drum ad's. Why? Because they aren't needed to sell to us.

Again I'm not offended or insulted. I just find it unnecessary given what is being sold.

Jay,

I clearly understand your point, but in your response you have made mine.

I don't need to see it either, but the seller stepped out onto that plank, so it is what it is.

I guess I'm just a realist, it doesn't bother me and I'm able to see through it.

It would probably be less insulting if she weren't sort of just mundanely average. Then we wouldn't be forced to make these kind of judgements.

There you go! Took the words right out of my mouth! Funny, but my girlfriend also said he should have at least used a prettier and sexier model! LoLoLoLo
