How to stop bare metal from oxidating again without rechroming?

Loading...

Hello,

I have some vintage chromed brass hoops. They are still in good shape but unfortunately there's one part where there was some green oxidation. I removed it, but now you can see a dark spot which I believe is the bare brass also being oxidated.

I've heard you can use a clear lacquer such as nail lacquer for women to put on the oxidated spot which will keep it away from humidity and air and so saving it from oxidating again.

Is this a good solution or are there any better methods?

sparay clear lacquer or clear acrylic. I've heard of clear powdercoating, but don't know much about that.
