How to flatten bass drum hoop wrap?

Loading...

I am looking for the best way to flatten the bass drum hoop wrap. The original wrap was coming off of the hoops because it was curling outwards. The Burgandy Sparkle wrap is in good condition and I am only missing a couple inches per hoop. I plan to position the missing wrap on the bottom of the hoops, out of sight.

I've tried to flatten out the wrap by putting books and heavy objects on top, but it is still not flat enough.

Anyone have any successful ideas?

Thanks,

Tim

I would try folding the strips (hump facing up,) in a couple of layers of wet terry cloth towel and run over it with an iron. The diffused heat coming through the damp towel should soften it enough to lay flat as you iron it. After ironing, I would roll the strips up to help them hold the new flat profile as they cool down.

I have never tried this, but it seems to me it would work. Just a 'suggestion'.
