Dirk here is the chart listed for dating a Slingerland shell.

http://www.vintagesnaredrums.com/drcjw/article_2_serial_numbers_page3.html

Judging by the serial number you provided the drum dates to the early 80's.Value wise its hard to say without photos or a better description of the snare itself.Such as shell type ( wood or metal ),complete / incomplete, proper hardware,etc...

JakeAtlantic, I think Jim Petty jp2creations.com makes repro-lugs, but I have no idea on the cost. It may be just as well to find some old original Slingy lugs if you need to replace them. If you get it, you'll probably love the mellow/round sound it can produce. Good luck!!

Clowndog you are correct.Jim Petty does make new old pieces ( in a manner of speaking ) But it may be a cheaper route to find Slingerland lugs that fir.Atleast the drum would be all Slingerland ( and keep the good origional lugs )

Quoted post

I am about to purchase a 7x14 8 lug pre-war slingerland radio king 1 ply maple snare drum. The finish is a black to brown to black fade. The finish is pretty beat up. ROUHGLY how much would something like this go for?

Those lugs don't look right to my eye...ask your questions first before buying...
