Curious about this "K" on Ebay
How high might this one go?
Started at $.99 and now up to $306. I'm sure the seller is very confident it will sell for a good price! I'll be watching!

Currently $1009. I'm sorry, but IMO, no old cymbal is worth that much, but my needs and preferences are different than most guys who collect old Ks. The ones who buy old Ks aren't jazz drummers, because most of them are too broke to afford them; they are well heeled collectors who are seduced by the supposed reputation old Ks have. Truth is, many old Ks were dogs. Turkish quality control was never as stringent as it was at USA Zildjian. You had to go through piles of Ks to find the best cymbals. I was taken in by the old K myth for a while, then I came to my senses and realized they don't work for rock music. I have an old K 14" crash. It's nothing special.
You can buy a Chinese made Dream Bliss ride and get the same dark and dirty sound and vibe as an old K, for a fraction of the price, and that's why so many jazz drummers like them. They're affordable. All the major cymbal makers have tried their hand at reproducing the old K sound.
From my pricing research:

20" Old Stamp: Expected median price $1290 with half selling for between $965 and $1600 n=26
This one is most likely to sell in the $1700-$2100 range given the condition and that the weight is in the "sweet spot" from 1700g to 1900g.
Full pricing data on all diameters and weights which gives a lot more context is available through the link in my signature.

It's all on my web site via this link. The overview:
22" New Stamp: Expected median price $1550 with half selling for between $1200 and $1750 n=32
20" New Stamp: Expected median price $860 with half selling for between $730 and $990 n=50
This is not taking weight, condition and quality of the ad (soundfile) into the prediction. Expected prices for cymbals in Japan may also be different if they are sold locally (in Japan) versus shipped back to the larger US market.
Thanks a lot for that info..will pass it along...
That's a HUGE leaf of faith! Cymbals sound completely different from one environment to the next.Bought a Paiste Reverand Als big ride for my rock kit in a small well treated room, but my ears weren't "happy." Off it went downstairs in a big open room on the Slingy jazz kit.PERFECT! And the same for my 18 Zildjian A.Wasnt happy with it in a big open room,so upstairs to the tight room...instant goodness. Fight on, gentelman.
$1592 with 55 minutes to go!
