How do you all store your cymbals?

Loading...

I do not have a huge cymbal collection, but I DO have enough that 1 or 2 cymbal bags do not do the trick.

How do you guys and gals go about storing them without getting them to scratch against each other and/or lean too much against each other? Opinions needed.

Thanks!

We have four cymbal bags for storage (2 of them are larger rolling types) and a fifth bag that my son uses for gigging that usually contains the cymbals from his last gig, Additionally, we usually have two sets of our drums in our home practice studio and they both have a full complement of cymbals on stands. And finally, we still have a half dozen or so cymbals leaning against various walls. In total er have around 30 rides and crashes, 6 pairs of hats, and 4 splashes

I keep mine stored vertically, as most drum shops do. As far as keeping them from scratching, I'm not overly concerned about that, so I have no problem storing them like so:

(these are hi-hats, roughly 115 pair - I now have 138 pair.)

I have a few more such cubby holes. :)

I keep mine stored in soft padded cymbal bags...I use paper towels as "spacers" between each cymbal to avoid scratching...

I have several old wooden TV tray stands, you guys have seen them, nice Maple construction with slots for the trays. Got mine at a local thrift store, just make sure they're bolted up good. Spent about $6-$7 bucks for 3 of them.

I want to make these. They seem really simple. I just need a saw. LoL... I figured these would have to have a dust cover as opposed to a window or something covering them.

You are a truly sick man...I like that. From now on when I feel like I've lost my mind, I'll remember you & punch in the card number with no regrets! Walking
