I know there are mis-matched hoops.

But I have never owned a Slingerland snare that was in a ducco finish.

What are you thoughts? No one else bid on it, which kinda worries me, but it'll be good for my collection, once I add the correct hoops to it.

Let me use a baseball term on you, It's a Home run!!!!, if another bidder came in on this you would have paid twice what you got it for, feel bad now!!?? this is a black gold duco student model radio king, take a magnet and see if the top stick saver rim is brass or steel, magnet will stick to the steel not to the, brass, WELL DONE!!!

MAN! I'm feeling good for you. That's a very sweet drum for a VERY good price. I love that Duco and it appears to be in good shape.

Seller said '59, but it might be a year or two older than that.

The 3-point strainer is gone in the '59 catalog anyway.

And the 3-point strainer alone, complete as it appears to be, is worth what you paid for the drum.

Awesome score.... !!

From mdbarba

I need a brass slingy bottom hoop for it.

The bottom hoop is the original one (just fyi). The top "stick saver" has been added probably as a player didnt like the clips getting in the way of rim shots. Just wanted to make sure you know that to put the drum back to original you need a top hoop and 8 clips....not a stick saver bottom hoop.

Sorry if I miss understood your situation. Sweet score!

Actually, a sticksaver rim was an option for an extra $4.00 .

So, you could go either way.... as long as it is a COB sticksaver.
