Hi! I bought a set of Yamaha Power V Specials and have been bringing them back into shape. Dirtiest kit I've ever seen. I have one problem though. One of the floor tom leg holders had the screw broken off in the hold. We've tried drilling and anything else but can't get the shaft loose. Does anyone know where I can get a used holder?
How about a little help to a newcomer
Welcome to the forum.
Sorry, Can't help with a replacement.
Have you tried soaking in PBR Blaster for a few days?
That and a few light hammer taps will sometimes get problem parts loose.

Get a tap (threader from tool store) same size as your FT leg bracket mount screws. Yamaha probably metric.
Get proper sized drill bit for tap.
Drill out bracket boss. (where the screw is broken off) with proper size drill bit.
Re-tap boss with tap and cutting oil.
Clean it out with WD 40 and install new screw.
This problem happens a lot.
Seems like alot of work.
But it is fun to do.
Hey you are a machinist now!
Thanks to Mr. Jerry Jenkins

Pleased to meet you, and ggd has given you some great advice. Try that first.
Thanks guys buit we've tried all those things and nothing has worked. I have an old l arm holder that fit the holes on the tom so I can use it. I'm seriously thinking of selling this kit and want it to look right. I guess I try reboring the hole and threading it for a larger screw.
Yes, threading for next size up screw is an alternative I use often on older Rogers lug bosses. 8-32 doesn't grab? Then I tap for 10-24 and save the lug.
When I was younger, I just threw them away when they stripped.
I did not know................many things then.
Thanks to Mr. Jerry Jenkins
