Who would know? Lugs look like Star, some of the parts are new... there are 3 rerings in the bassdrum, as far as i know Star never did that? What would you guys say?

the bass drum is definetly note a star.
Got the same with 3 re-rings, it's hoshino, with "Aria" type lugs
I'd say "none of the above" That is a Pearl tom mount.
It's a mongrel. Not worth a second look.
Those are definitely Star, pre-67.
I also think these are STAR!
I'd have to agree with jonnistix. All features definitely point to Star.

okok, i'm wrong... so my 3re-ring BD is a Star one too ;)
I have a '67 "US Mercury" 14x20, which is a 3 ply Star with 3 re-rings. I glassed the interior for projection and it sounds great. It is fairly substantial though, particularly in comparison to the 3 ply tom shells from the same set, which are ludicrously thin. Removing the tom lugs on sees dramatic distortions in the shell wall at each fitting point. The pointy sharktooth lugs can even crack the shells when cranked down snugly.
Hello,
I'm afraid the Star-advocates didn't look close enough into the pics ...
These are definitely NOT Star drums.
I'd like to justify my statement:
1. Star never made tom brackets where the tom arm goes (through a big round hole) into the drum shell.
2. Bass drum spurs: replacements, or what else?
3. The Slingy style lugs have two 'too sharp corners'. Star ones were 'smother round', always.
4. Style of the lugs at the bass drum: not conform to Star.
5. The tom bracket at the bass drum has two fixing screws only. Star ones had four fixing screws always.
Anyone here, who can justify his statement that it should be a Star made one?
Greetings, Ralf
