I have the snare and hat stand, and they are the heaviest I,ve ever come across. I always thought they were from the hilite series. I,ve never heard them referred to Link??

Last I recall these stands were in the 200.00 range, but I doubt you could get that these days. Things are different than they were 5 yrs ago in this business.

These copper stands were part of the Hilite Exclusive line, which is from the Link era. The Link era refers to the era before Sonor being sold or something like that when Horst Link was running the company… many feel the company went downhill after he stepped down.

I believe the snare stand in question is an actual signature stand that was factory copper plated to go along with the HLD 590. The hilite stands while very sturdy are still lighter in comparison to the sigs. The hilite stand is more common to see on ebay.

My guess on this stand in that condition would be $400-500 or more depending on the right buyer. Very rare in nice condtion. The copper plating is notorious for tarnishing and re-plating is very costly.

Gsonor....what would the hilite exclusive stands in similar condition be valued at?

I was under the impression that the copper plating is the layer below the normal exterior chrome plating and with the Hilite series they simply stopped at the copper plating layer and didn't apply the chrome.

To Wayne- I'm not real sure as far as actual value goes but it seems like I've seen them go for around 150-200.

Barryabko- I think that's how it's done too, they may give it a bit of a thicker plating but you are right about they copper being the plating before the chrome.

So, its the same stand, with the copper application being the only difference?

Not sure what you mean. The sig stand and hilite stand are different with different features but you could order both stands with chrome or copper. Hope that clears it up.

Gary.
