well i have been experimenting on graining in the opb here is my work in progress almost there had to see what the opinions are thanks, filled with real nice 2 part non shrinking filler then use hot stix and knife from piano repair ( went to mohawk school decades ago )then used pearl and other pigments to grain in place... the last pic is upside down this is no trick photography

Than i use lacquer liquid graining medium and rubb it out, hot stick is a solid bar of lacquer, that i melt in place becomes apart of surface, but i still have to put in small grain lines

Is the hot stick a color like the white pearl color I am seeing in pic.
That is the best repair for the year man.
Where does one get "hot sticks and pearl"?

yes there available in a lot of colors, (mostly wood tones )and you hot blend them to get the right hue then you add a liquid pearl and other colors and a liquid graining medium grain and blend, I have been putting together a theory for years and finally got it i think
