Hoarding Cymbals by Poppy

I bought 1 new sets of cymbals in my life. Sabian HHX Evolution. 20-18-26- and 14 hats. Over the years I have collected cymbals, and snares. When I aquire a kit it usually has cymbals and hardware. I bought a CB kit that had a brand new set of zil a custom hats and a nice 22" old zel and a acrolite with case and standetc.... I sold the drums, kept the cymbals. I have done that a lot actually and have aquired quite a pile of cymbals. I dont really wanna sell any of them. I want to learn about them and document it, and of course keep em! I found a nice pile of cymbals at a pawn shop some years ago right after christmas. It was a set of HHX Evolutions. I proudly put them at the jam hole and the crashes got broke within a yr. I replaced them with zildjian K's, but love them so much I bought a new set and have it here at the house.

The ride down at the jamhole is a raw bell ride 22" it is sooooo sweet!!!!

Anyone else hoard your cymbals?

Second thought I did trade a cymbal for some nearly new pinstrip heads. a 18" B8. I regretted it to because it was part of a set. so I bought a new one from MF. is that insane or what????

Last night I drug all my cymbals out and decided to weigh each one of them and try to research them. Find out when they were made and wich stamp i have and if they are desirable or not. I got about 45 here at the house and 5 at the jamhole. I need a workable catalog system. brand, size, weight, date etc...... Anyone got any ideas?

I weighed them all and cataloged them all by brand, size, series, weight, and notes. Here's a list if this works! lol
