robyn - it could be a few things... best bet, take it apart and make sure nothing internal snapped, or is broken. Good opportunity to clean it up real nice, lubricate it in a couple of spots and troubleshoot it to identify the problem. Check the linkages inside, make sure the internal rods are connected. Check the spring, etc. etc. You'll find whatever is causing the problem sooner or later. I'll look around and see if I can find a mechanical diagram of the pedal.JohnEDIT: Look what I found, robyn! http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=45001
thanks john. i read through the link you provided but it didnt seem to have the info im looking for. ill look through it again tho just to make sure i didnt miss something. ill probly just have to tear into it and see whats going on.
so, when i do start taking the stand apart, is there any particular details i need yo look out for, for example...spring loaded screws or parts that will fly apart if im not holding it right ? i hate them kind of surprises.
i have taken a cupl hat stands apart and fixed them but they were just cheapies, entry level type stands. they were easy fixes, have a feeling this is gonna be a bit more complicated.
is there a certain type of lubricant i should use? and im not sure what you mean by linkages. i'll work on it tomorrow and get back with ya after i get inside of it.
as Rims n Skins mentioned. ...if the spring is stretched, what do i do about that and will it be easy to identify if it is streched?
i'll check it out more, thanks for the help so far.
