Loading...

I'm interested in old K hats, but I don't know much about them.

Can anyone tell me the approximately price?

I know it's depend on the weight or the era.

so I'll divide into these categories.

Old Stamp

-thin

-mid thin

-heavy

Intermediate stamp

-thin

-med thin

-heavy

New Stamp

-thin

-med thin

-heavy

To me this was surprise. Is this normal for old stamp hats? I think not so thin.

That's nothing less than insane...holy crap...I should list my 15's and my 22".....then I can retire.

Up until...very recently...a primo set of old K 'hats should have run about $500-600 tops. With a little luck you can pick up a nice pair for $400-450.

15" crash = $350

16" = $400

18" = $475-600

20" = $800-1100

22" = $1300-1700

....there's no legitimate basis for that sorta craziness....also, those weights aren't exactly RARE...a 940g 14" top isn't exactly.... thin...???....& they actually aren't really great weights for 14 K's at all....fair chance someone's gonna be disappointed with how these are gonna sound.

Also, sorry to say, but...no pair of hats in the world is worth $1500.Cooked Egg

yep. this hats are almost heavy to me.

so I just wanted to ask why it scored such high.

I don't think you can get a nice pair for &400 - $450 though.

At least $600?

It might be more if it's old stamp.

are you angry, btw?

Eye Ball Who....meeeeeeeeee ????? ;) naw...it's just that auctions like that start screwin' everyone up...y'know ? Because they create false expectations for the seller....and it only takes 2 or 3 idiots worldwide to bid/pay some ridiculous amount to send the entire market value haywire.....

Yes...$400-500 via Craigslist or maybe a pawn shop or buy/trade sorta shop.....

Definitely not via eBay....too much exposure.

If you are ready to spend $600, you can definitely score a pair somewhere.

IMHO...of all K sizes, anything under 15" becomes a tricky proposition. I have had 14" hats...several plus several singles...and the 14's are a much odder animal. So many of 'em just don't 'sing' like their larger brethren.

I wouldn't bother with any 14" K top 'hat over 850g, personally....if I couldn't play it first....

Best of luck.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....
